My first trip to Ireland, land of my ancestors, began with an Aer Lingus flight from Chicago to Dublin. The flight was fairly smooth and airline was decent. There was a screen in the back of each seat from which you could choose from roughly 15 movies to watch. Despite having a shamrock on the wing, they did not serve any Irish beer on board -- very disappointing. The food left something to be desired, but the service was friendly. It was an overnight flight, so we arrived in Dublin at 8:30am local time with a full day ahead of us.
