I flew Lufthansa from Newark, NJ to Frankfurt, Germany to Barcelona, Spain. I strongly recommend flying Lufthansa whenever possible; they give you real steak knifes, have good food, and offer beer and wine constantly free of charge. They also brought around a nice cognac after dinner. I met up with my Mom and Ben in the Frankfurt airport. After arriving in Spain, we drove north of the city to a villa that my step-aunt rented.
On our first day, we headed to Port Lligat to see the home of Salvador Dali. This egg is perched atop the roof of his house. We took a tour of his house and grounds. It's impossible to convey just how bizzare the place was: a stuffed polar bear to hold your cane and a tower with forks sticking out the sides and an egg on up. He did have an amazing view of the bay.
We also drove to the Cap de Creus, the most eastern point in Spain. The road out to the lighthouse was essentially one-lane, but had traffic going both ways. Not a big deal when there's a shoulder, but at times there was a nice long drop down to the Mediteranean. The region here is know as the Gold Coast because of the color of the rocks.
